CODE 2.0 – innovative IT education

CODE 2.0 is a project made by Pomeranian Foundation for Economic Initiatives that both offers young people a chance to retrain for a new job and tries to find a solution for lack of qualified staff in IT sector.

The project is based on free education for people looking to change their jobs or expend their chances on a labor market. IT training program includes 5 months of workshops ended by an exam in form of a real task commissioned by IT company. Whole workshops will be lead by programmers and a companies within a partnership program will have an option to follows participants progress and scout out the best talents. Last phase of the program consist 40-day internship at CODE 2.0 partners.

The program will start 4th of August. 15 unemployed selected with District Labor Office will take part in pilot edition. During the course of 644 hours the trainers with width real-life experience in high-tech companies will teach them the most important aspects of programming. Next the participants will undergo internships in the companies from IT sector.

Foundation is planning the next edition opened for participants. This innovative way of teaching can be a proof that to fight with demand on stuff in IT sector open minds and determination are more important than 5-years theoretical studies.
